Building Momentum at Trinity Grammar School, The Renewal Project
The Trinity Grammar School Renewal Project has seen significant progress over the past month, with the team focused on advancing the structure through slab and vertical concrete pours. Key achievements include completing formwork, reinforcement, and concrete pours on Levels 2 and 3, as well as the first of two pours on Level 4. Suspended slab formwork is underway for the final pour on Level 4, whilst tensioning works have been finalised on Levels 2 and 3. Blockwork and high-level services in the basement are nearing completion, and lift fabrication is progressing well with Lift 1 complete. Within the Quad building, ceiling framing and lining works have been completed. With the final major pour scheduled for later this month, the goal is to have the main structure standing by Christmas. Once complete, the suspended slab structure will have used over 2,400m³ of concrete, equivalent to 300 trucks and 17 full days of pouring concrete. Beyond construction, the Taylor team has hosted site tours for Year 8 and Year 11 students, offering hands-on learning experiences. Year 11 Building and Construction students even completed a WH&S induction, gaining valuable insight into life on-site. Looking ahead, work will accelerate during the school holidays, and in late January, the project will celebrate a major milestone with a ‘Topping Out’ ceremony, marking the highest structural point.
