Circular Economy & Waste
Taylor is already consistently recycling >85% of our construction waste, and we are aiming to improve this even further. Having set ambitious targets, we are seeking opportunities to repurpose and re-use different types of construction waste in collaboration with partners. We’re also working towards greater segregation of waste streams to achieve more effective recycling.
Biodiversity & Land Use
Taylor recognises that our construction operations have an impact on, and around, the sites where we build – and we are seeking ways to protect biodiversity and native flora and fauna in these places. Through partnerships with NGOs and conservation groups, we’re working to minimise and offset any loss of biodiversity, and give more to the land than we take.

Low Embodied Carbon Materials
The First Building and Wildlife Retreat used FSC and PEFC-certified Cross Laminated and Glue Laminated Timber, rammed earth, and pigmented concrete to reduce embodied carbon, enhance thermal performance, and reflect local culture through sustainable design and construction.
Design for Disassembly
The First Building’s modular ‘kit of parts’ enables future adaptability, reuse, and relocation—supporting circular construction through prefabricated, mechanically fastened timber and steel components designed for easy disassembly.
Renewable Energy Adoption
We integrate solar PV and battery systems into our builds, reducing emissions, lowering grid reliance, and delivering long-term value through clean energy solutions that meet evolving sustainability targets.
Safeguarding Native Flora
At PolAir Bankstown Airport, we protected the endangered Hibbertia Fumana by adapting construction methods, collaborating with stakeholders, and integrating ecological oversight, preserving biodiversity without compromising project delivery
Recycling 20,000 Bricks
At Rosebery Engine Yards, over 20,000 bricks and heritage elements were salvaged, merging sustainability with industrial history to reduce material waste and showcase adaptive reuse in circular construction.
Roseville College Learning Partnership
Taylor’s Learning Partnership with Roseville College empowers students to solve real industry challenges, boosting female participation in construction through design thinking and immersive site experiences.
Ravenswood Art Prize (Indigenous Female Artists)
As a Major Partner of the Ravenswood Australian Women’s Art Prize, Taylor proudly supports Australia’s highest-value art prize for women, advancing opportunity, recognition, and connection for emerging and established female artists.

Diversity, Inclusion, People & Culture
We recognise the value of a diverse workforce that is inclusive of all genders, ages and backgrounds. Construction is historically a challenging sector to achieve gender equality, so we are actively working to attract and support women through our Taylor Women In Construction (TWIC) program and Women Breaking Ground scholarship initiative.
Our diversity commitment also extends beyond our own workforce, with a social procurement strategy in place, and targets set for indigenous spend.
